Penguinz

Penguinz by BEazy

Penguinz by BEazy is an indica-leaning hybrid (40/60) born from Zkittlez-based genetics in Bobby Ryan’s Zoo collection. At 22-28% THC, this living-soil cut opens with sweet grape candy on the nose and settles into a calm, balanced high that melts tension without putting you down. Penguinz by BEazy is built for mellow evenings and easy days alike.

The Story

BEazy is Bobby Ryan, the Boston-born cultivator who built his cannabis brand in L.A. through bold packaging, living-soil cultivation, and a relentless focus on terpene expression. His Zoo collection is an animal-themed strain roster rooted in Zkittlez genetics: Zebraz, Peacockz, Dolphinz, Jaguarz, Rhinoz, Hyenas, Otterz, Gatorz, and a growing cast of animal-named cuts. Each one explores a different corner of the candy-fruit spectrum that Zkittlez made famous.

Penguinz is the mellow one. Where Otterz leans playful and cerebral, and Hyenas brings earthy funk and peppery spice, Penguinz sits squarely on the calm side of the Zoo. The Zkittlez backbone (Grape Ape x Grapefruit x unknown) provides the candy-fruit foundation, but Bobby selected this particular phenotype for its creamy, grape-forward terpene expression and its gentle indica lean. Living-soil cultivation amplifies that selection further. The soil microbiome contributes secondary metabolites that deepen terpene complexity, which is why Penguinz delivers a richer, more layered nose than its THC range alone would suggest. Bobby has always said he chases terps over numbers, and Penguinz is the proof: a strain that wins you over on flavour first, then lets the high do the rest.

The Nose

Crack the seal and sweet candy sugar fills the room, loud and immediate. Right behind it, grape rolls in dark and jammy, the unmistakable Zkittlez DNA announcing itself. As the nugs breathe, berry deepens the fruit layer with a ripe, compote richness that clings to the air. Break a bud apart and the candy note sharpens, bright and almost confectionary, while fruity sweetness expands underneath. Then the gassy undertone pushes through, grounding all that sugar with a fuel-tinged funk. At the bottom, a smooth creamy finish rounds the whole profile out, soft and rich like vanilla frosting. Myrcene anchors the nose with a musky, herbal, earthy base that keeps the fruit from floating away. Limonene adds citrus pop and lemon zest brightness that lifts everything upward. Caryophyllene brings a peppery kick and spicy wood edge at the back. Finally, Linalool layers in a soft floral, lavender quality that gives Penguinz its signature calm-before-you-even-smoke-it character. Dense, frosty nugs with purple accents and a trichome coat that sticks to your fingers on the break.

The Smoke

The first pull lands sweet and grape across the palate, like biting into a frozen fruit pop. Smooth from the start, no harshness, just pure dessert. On the exhale, berry and candy push forward as the Zkittlez genetics make themselves known. Midway through, the creamy richness builds and the gassy undertone surfaces, adding a fuel-sweet depth to every pull. Then the Linalool shows up as a floral softness that cushions the smoke, while Caryophyllene adds peppery warmth and spicy wood on the transition. Toward the roach, Myrcene concentrates in the resin ring with herbal, earthy depth. The Limonene keeps the flavour bright even at the end, never letting the sweetness go flat. Slow burn, even ring, white ash from start to finish.

The High

Penguinz by BEazy eases in rather than rushing. Within a few minutes, a gentle euphoric warmth rises behind the eyes, followed by a clear happy mood lift that colours the room softer. Everything feels a little easier, a little lighter. The calming quality arrives early here, smoothing out mental noise before the body even registers the high. This is where the Linalool and Myrcene do their work together: the headspace stays present but unhurried.

Around the ten-minute mark, relaxation rolls in through the body. Shoulders drop, jaw unclenches, tension dissolves from the neck down. Then a warm body high spreads through the limbs, heavy enough to feel but never enough to pin you down. A tingly sensation follows, like static electricity dissolving through your muscles. As the session continues, the hungry kicks in with genuine fridge-raiding appetite from the Zkittlez genetics. The beauty of Penguinz is that the head stays calm and clear while the body goes soft. You can still hold a conversation, still choose to move, but every fibre of you would rather stay exactly where you are. At 22-28% THC, the progression is smooth and predictable rather than sudden.

Who Should Try Penguinz by BEazy?

At moderate potency with low anxiety risk, Penguinz by BEazy is one of the most approachable cuts in the entire Zoo collection. Newer smokers can step into this comfortably, because the onset is gentle and the progression is forgiving. Experienced heads, on the other hand, will appreciate the terpene layering and how the Linalool gives this strain a calming depth that most Zkittlez crosses lack. If you are the type who finds some strains too stimulating or racey, Penguinz is specifically the Zoo animal that will not push you there.

On the medical side, it is a natural fit for stress, chronic pain, insomnia, appetite loss, and anxiety. The Myrcene and Linalool combination delivers real anti-anxiety and analgesic support, while the Caryophyllene contributes anti-inflammatory action underneath. Medium sleepiness means afternoon and evening sessions both work well, though late-night use can absolutely tip you toward sleep if you let the body high settle in fully. In addition, the genuine appetite stimulation makes this a strong choice for anyone dealing with nausea or low appetite. If you want a Zoo strain that keeps everything calm, functional, and flavour-forward, Penguinz is the one to reach for. Check out more from BEazy on Instagram for the full collection.
