Toad Venom

Toad Venom by IYKYK

Toad Venom by IYKYK is an indica-leaning hybrid (40/60) born from Animal Face x Sin Mintz (Ronin Seeds cut). At 25-30% THC, this is not another candy strain. Doughy, minty, gassy terps that land somewhere between fresh biscuit dough and cold menthol, then a body high that pins you to the couch and keeps you there until morning.

The Story Behind Toad Venom by IYKYK

Both parents of Toad Venom come from serious pedigrees. Animal Face is a Seed Junky Genetics creation, Face Off OG crossed with Animal Mints. Face Off OG is one of those old-school cuts that hit the Southern California scene in the early 2000s: gassy, aggressive, built for potency above all else. When Seed Junky crossed it into their Animal Mints line, the result was a face-melting indica hybrid with a reputation for testing above 30% THC. The “animal” side brings that raw, musky funk and the kind of OG gas that fills a room before you even grind the bud.

On the other side sits Sin Mintz, a Ronin Seeds cut that never got the mainstream hype but earned a quiet following among breeders who valued heavy body effects and unusual terps. Sin Mintz carries cookie and dough genetics with a strong minty finish, the kind of profile that tastes like a fresh-baked pastry dipped in peppermint. When you cross those two together, you get something genuinely unusual: the gassy OG aggression of Animal Face meeting the doughy, minty sweetness of Sin Mintz. The name Toad Venom fits. Like its namesake, this strain hits with an intensity that creeps up and overwhelms.

IYKYK (If You Know, You Know) is a Bangkok-based curator known for sourcing rare California genetics and bringing them to the Thai market. This cut shows why they earned that name: Toad Venom by IYKYK is not a strain you stumble across on every menu.

The Nose

Crack the seal and Doughy hits first, warm and bready, like someone pulled a tray of biscuits out of the oven in the next room. Then Mint pushes through, cool and sharp, cutting right through the warmth. That contrast alone makes Toad Venom unusual. Underneath, a thick Gassy funk sits in the base, musky and raw, the Animal Face heritage announcing itself. Citrus brightens the mid-notes as the nugs breathe, while a soft Fruity sweetness rounds out the edges. Caryophyllene drives the peppery bite underneath the gas, spicy and woody. Limonene lifts the citrus and keeps the sweetness from going flat. Myrcene anchors the whole profile with herbal, earthy depth. Dense, frosty nugs with a heavy trichome coat and a nose that refuses to stay in the bag.

The Smoke

First pull lands doughy across the palate, thick and bready, with mint rolling in on the exhale like a cold breeze through a bakery. Smooth and clean from the start. Mid-joint, the gassy notes build as the Caryophyllene activates, adding peppery weight and spicy wood to the smoke. Citrus opens up alongside it, the Limonene cutting through the heavier tones with brightness. In the last third, the Myrcene concentrates in the resin ring, earthy and herbal, thickening the finish. A subtle fruity sweetness lingers on the lips after each pull. White ash throughout, even burn, and a joint that gets richer as it gets shorter.

The High

The onset arrives within minutes. Euphoric warmth spreads through the head, lifting the mood and clearing mental noise. Almost immediately, Happy stacks on top, a genuine, uncomplicated contentment that settles in behind the eyes. Consequently, the head high feels bright and present for those first ten minutes. Then the body takes over. Relaxed waves roll through the shoulders and spine, followed by a deep Calming weight that makes every muscle feel like it’s unwinding for the first time all day. By the 20-minute mark, the Body-High locks in fully. This is the Animal Face doing its work: heavy, physical, and inescapable. Furthermore, the Myrcene and Caryophyllene combination pushes the sedation deeper as the high builds. At this potency, the throttle is real. Sleepiness sits at high, meaning by the 45-minute mark, the couch has won and the eyelids are closing.

Who Should Try Toad Venom by IYKYK?

At this potency with high sleepiness, Toad Venom by IYKYK is a genuine nightcap. Save it for after dinner, after the last errand, after everything. Experienced smokers who want to be put down for the night will find exactly what they came for. However, anxiety risk sits at medium, so if you are prone to racing thoughts or you are new to heavy indicas, start with two or three pulls and wait fifteen minutes. The body high creeps, and once it locks in, there is no dialing it back. On the medical side, Toad Venom is a strong fit for stress, anxiety, and chronic pain, particularly the kind of full-body tension that accumulates over a long day. The combination of deep physical sedation and genuine euphoria makes this one of the more effective evening medicinals on the menu. In addition, the doughy, minty terp profile sets it apart from the typical fruity or candy strains in the Sleep category.
